Interviews for 2027 entry run on 4, 5 and 6 January 2027, in person in Leeds for home applicants.
Notes by Dr S Farooq, MBChB, BSc (Hons). Checked October 2026.

Entry and UCAT
Getting an interview at Leeds.
Typical requirements for school leavers. Always check the full requirements on the Leeds website.
Typical A-level offer
AAA (an A* cannot make up for a B)
Required subjects
Chemistry and Biology are required. Not accepted as the three: Chemistry and Biology with Human Biology, Sports Science or Critical Thinking, or Chemistry with Maths and Further Maths. A fourth A-level gives no advantage, and the EPQ is not scored.
How the UCAT is used
For 2027 entry, shortlisting only. The academic score (achieved and predicted grades) and UCAT are combined into a total that ranks applicants for interview, so a strong academic score can offset a weaker UCAT and the other way round. There is no fixed cut-off, and UCAT is not used in final offers.
Situational judgement (SJT)
No SJT requirement is stated for 2027 entry; Leeds refers only to the overall UCAT score.
Published UCAT scores
Lowest UCAT totals shortlisted for 2026 entry (out of 2700): 1900 for UK applicants, 1810 for widening participation applicants and 2020 for international applicants. These are a guide only, because academic and UCAT scores are combined.
GCSEs
At least 6 GCSEs at grade 6 or above, including Maths, English Language, Biology and Chemistry (or Dual Science). Eight GCSEs are scored, and applicants with only the minimum are unlikely to be shortlisted. One resit per qualification is allowed.
Other qualifications
IB 36 with 6,6,6 at Higher Level including Chemistry and Biology (34 through Access to Leeds); Scottish AAAAB Highers plus AA at Advanced Higher; T Levels are not accepted.
Contextual offers
Access to Leeds (A2L) offer of ABB, with an A in Chemistry or Biology, and a minimum GCSE grade of 4. A separate A2L application must be made alongside UCAS.
