Close, parent-led support
Limited to 4–6 families at a time
Mentorship for families who want a doctor alongside them, start to finish
A structured route for families turning an application plan into steady weekly progress, led personally by Dr Farooq, not an associate. Limited to 4-6 families at a time so the work stays personal and responsive.
The 6-week private mentorship programme. The £399 Diagnostic is credited in full, making it the first of 13 scheduled 1:1 conversations with Dr Farooq.
The live sessions are only part of the work: preparation, review, written feedback and direction continue between them.
What the programme includes
Six weeks of individual direction, review and practice, built around one applicant’s evidence, chosen courses and next decisions
The diagnostic, carried into the programme
Mentorship begins with the Diagnostic: a parent-led assessment of the applicant’s evidence, timeline, target courses and current preparation. Its written plan becomes the foundation for the six weeks ahead.
A working six-week plan
The opening plan establishes the order of work, but it is not filed away. It is revisited each week as work is submitted, priorities develop and decisions arise.
Twelve private teaching and review sessions
Two 60-minute sessions each week, personally led by Dr Farooq. One session teaches and sets direction; the other reviews submitted work, tests progress and addresses the next pressure point.
Application & statement review
Structured feedback on the applicant’s own personal-statement responses, evidence and reflection. Each review leaves clear written priorities; Vetta advises and challenges, but never writes for the applicant.
Tailored interview preparation
Live practice, a tailored question bank and direct feedback shaped by the applicant’s own evidence, target courses and likely interview themes.
The Vetta interview handbook
The complete Interview Handbook is included: the six-domain marking rubric, extensive practice bank and two complete mock interviews. It provides a clear structure for independent work between sessions.
The work around the sessions
The live conversation is only one part of the programme. Each week includes the review, direction and follow-through needed to turn preparation into steady progress.
Before
Work is submitted in advance: Relevant drafts, reflections, questions or evidence are reviewed before the session, so live time is spent on judgement rather than administration.
During
Teaching meets the real application: Dr Farooq teaches the priority skill, reviews the applicant’s present position and practises where performance matters.
After
Directions are set in writing: The applicant receives clear priorities, practical work and the evidence or preparation needed for the following week.
THE VETTA LIBRARY AND PRIVATE SUPPORT
Different levels of support, for different moments in the application.
The Vetta guides are designed to stand on their own. They give applicants and parents a clear, honest route through a demanding process.
The Interview Handbook provides a complete independent method for the interview itself. The Diagnostic brings a doctor’s judgement to one applicant’s particular position. Mentorship is for families who would value sustained, individual direction across the work: setting priorities, reviewing progress and preparing for the decisions that follow.
No family needs every service. The appropriate level of support depends on the applicant, the stage they have reached and the degree of individual guidance required.
The Guides
The Applicant Guide and the Parent Guide, given to every family.
Interview Handbook
Includes the Guides, plus a complete independent interview programme.
Diagnostic
Includes the Interview Handbook, plus a one-hour personal assessment and a written plan.
PRIVATE, ONGOING SUPPORT

When private Mentorship is appropriate
Mentorship is intended for families who would value direct, continuing involvement from one doctor across a defined period of preparation. It is not additional content layered onto an application. It is a structured working relationship: understanding the applicant’s position, deciding what matters next, reviewing the work and maintaining direction as the application develops.
One person, accountable throughout
Every assessment, session and feedback conversation is personally led by Dr Farooq.
A route that responds to the applicant
The plan is informed by the applicant’s actual evidence, priorities, chosen courses and progress, rather than a fixed curriculum applied to everyone.
Direction between the sessions
Preparation, review and written Next Directions ensure that the work continues after each conversation ends.
The £399 Diagnostic is credited in full against Mentorship should a place be offered and the family choose to proceed.
Mentorship is limited to the number of families Dr Farooq can personally support at one time. No offer, interview or admission outcome is guaranteed.
