General Studies, Critical Thinking and Level 3 BTECs are not accepted; the Advanced Welsh Baccalaureate Skills Challenge can be the third subject.

How the UCAT is used

For 2027 entry, ranking: Stage 1 ranks applicants by overall UCAT score; Stage 2 checks that they meet the minimum academic criteria. The two stages repeat until interview places are filled. Subtest scores are not used.

Situational judgement (SJT)

For 2027 entry, Home applicants must have SJT Band 1-3 (Band 4 is rejected). The SJT is not used for international or EU applicants.

Published UCAT scores

2026 entry: Home 1960; International/EU 2080. Liverpool's guidance estimate for 2027 Home entry is about the 5th-7th decile (1880-2010).

Nine GCSEs including English Language, Maths, Biology and Chemistry (or equivalent science), with grade 6/B in core subjects. A minimum of 15 points from the best nine is required (A*-A/9-7 = 2, B/6 = 1).
